What we’re doing
We propose to plant around 8 Sydney redgum trees on Mitchell Street in landscaped median strips. The median strips will also help slow traffic and make the street safer.
As well as beautifying the street, these trees will provide shade and reduce the urban heat island effect. Speeding up our urban street tree planting is an important way we can increase the city’s canopy cover and help reduce the impacts of climate change.
