What we’re doing

We’re proposing to introduce ticket parking in Arundel, Catherine, Seamer, Mount Vernon and Westmoreland streets, Glebe.

The proposed changes would improve parking compliance, deter commuter parking and increase parking opportunities for residents and their visitors.

Why we’re doing this

The parking restrictions in Arundel, Catherine, Seamer, Mount Vernon and Westmoreland streets are a mix of 1P and 2P permit parking and unrestricted parking.

Residents raised concerns that commuters travelling to the area for work or university often park in these streets, reducing parking opportunities for residents and their visitors.

In response to these concerns, we’re proposing to reallocate all 1P and 2P permit parking and unrestricted parking spaces in Arundel, Catherine, Seamer, Mount Vernon and Westmoreland streets to ticket parking.

The proposed parking changes would require any vehicle that does not have an Area G parking permit to purchase a parking ticket where ticket parking signs are installed.

Eligible residents will need to purchase parking permits to park their vehicles in kerb space allocated with permit parking restrictions.

There are no changes proposed to current mobility parking restrictions in Arundel, Catherine, Mount Vernon and Westmoreland streets. Drivers with mobility parking permits can continue to park in the mobility parking spaces as normal. These permit holders can also park in the ticket parking spaces without needing to purchase a ticket but they must adhere to the time restrictions.
