Travel planning guidelines: Preparing and implementing site-specific development measures
Supporting a sustainable transport network is key to safeguarding the future of our city.
This guide outlines what is required in order to prepare, lodge and carry out a travel plan. The guide covers the:
- benefits of travel planning
- elements required to satisfy our travel planning requirements
- processes to prepare and review a travel plan.
It's likely that work required to develop a travel plan as part of the development application process will also need a transport impact assessment and a transport access guide. However, these are not addressed in the guidelines.
We encourage existing developments to prepare travel plans to better manage travel demands. These aren't subject to the same approval process as a travel plan required under a development consent condition.
