The police and legal system are here to protect your right to live safely without the threat of harm or intimidation from domestic or family violence.
When police are called to a domestic and family violence incident, they will investigate what occurred. If they’re satisfied a domestic and family violence offence has occurred or is likely to happen, they will take out an apprehended violence order, or AVO.
Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service
This service provides information, advocacy and referrals to assist women and their children who are experiencing or have experienced domestic and family violence.
