Project Status: When you need to do this
- We’ve introduced temporary online memberships for City of Sydney residents and ratepayers living in NSW, allowing you to join our library without visiting a branch.
- Temporary memberships are valid until 30 June 2021.
-
With this membership, you can use our reserve and collect service to borrow books, magazines, DVDs and music, language and audiobook CDs. You’ll also get free access to our entire digital collection including ebooks, eaudiobooks, emagazines, enewspapers, and film and music steaming services.
- To convert to a full 3 year membership and receive your library card, visit one of our branches open for browsing and borrowing. You’ll need to provide proof of identity, including your current permanent address.
Library services update
From Monday 11 January, most branches are open to visit for up to 4 hours per day to browse and borrow, study, work, read and use the computers. Borrowing is available using a contactless reserve and collect service at the other branches.
You must wear a mask when attending our venues.
