Sydney New Year’s Eve visual identity expression of interest

The City of Sydney has temporarily paused our call for expressions of interest for the Sydney New Year’s Eve visual identity.

In this instance, we sought initial written expressions of interest, to compile a shortlist of three entrants. Those three shortlisted entrants were to be paid $3,000 each to create and develop design proposals, with the selected proposal to receive $70,000.

We have received feedback from the design community regarding remuneration for creative pitches.

We respect the views of the design community and given the expression of interest seeks pitches from sole traders to large agencies, we want to ensure fair remuneration for all work submitted, including proposal development.

We will consult with the Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA) and establish an updated framework that meets the expectations of the industry and supports the creative sector.
