Why we’re doing this

Local approvals policies must be reviewed after each Council election.

The draft amended hoardings and scaffolding local approvals policy has been revised to replace the current policy adopted by Council in November 2016.

There are no material changes to the draft amended policy. Any changes are administrative to better align with section 158 of the Local Government Act 1993 . The guidelines for hoardings and scaffolding adopted through the draft amended policy remain unchanged.

This draft policy:

  • allows for safe and convenient passage past worksites for people walking, riding and driving
  • controls and regulates the design, approval, installation, use and maintenance of hoardings and scaffolding erected on or above roads
  • improves the visual amenity of worksites through the display of high-quality public art and graphics on hoardings and scaffolding.

The policy applies throughout our local area.
