What we’re doing

Quality green open spaces are a priority for our residents, workers and visitors. These park upgrades will create better quality open spaces for everyone to enjoy, help keep our city cooler and support biodiversity in our local areas.

The proposal for Ernest Pedersen Reserve includes:

  • a double swing set with strap and bucket seat, suitable for children aged 0 to 12
  • play structure with slide and cubby, suitable for children aged 1 to 8
  • nature play elements including a balance wall, steppers and planting within the playspace to provide a sensory play experience
  • new and updated bench seats
  • brick paving on the existing path
  • a fence, gate and accessible path to the playground and repairs to the rear fence
  • hooped garden fence in the garden bed and a new sandstone edge to the lawn.

We will retain and protect the existing trees and habitat planting in the reserve.
