Sydney City Farm booking terms and conditions
When you volunteer with the farm you'll have the opportunity to do interesting and rewarding work, learn new skills and interact with others who share similar interests.
Volunteers
Farm volunteers can help with the growing and development of the farm site. Shifts are usually 1 and a half hours.
Visit What’s On to register, but read the following terms and conditions first.
Volunteers must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 (unless you have a medical exemption).
Prior to volunteering you must provide evidence of your vaccination status in the form of a Covid-19 digital certificate or immunisation history statement from the Australian Immunisation Register, or a medical contraindication certificate.
Education
Bookings are essential for Sydney City Farm education programs. Bookings can be made at the City of Sydney website.
You'll need to create a login to access and use the booking system.
For Sydney City Farm fee-based programs, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Payment methods accepted are Visa, MasterCard and American Express. If you want to use another form of payment, please contact Sydney City Farm on 02 9265 9333 or [email protected]
Concessions
We allow a concession rate for children under 16, full-time students, holders of Commonwealth health care, pensioner or seniors health cards. Proof of benefit must be provided to Sydney City Farm. Scan and email your card to [email protected]
Education program cancellations
Cancellations may be made up to 14 days before the program start date. Cancellations can be made at the City of Sydney website.
You can opt for a credit that can be used towards the cost of another City Farm program valid for 12 months from the initial program start date or a full refund.
In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, we offer additional flexibility for City Farm education program cancellations. If you feel unwell, or exhibit symptoms of Covid-19, you'll be entitled to a refund or voucher credit up until the beginning of your program, including multi-session courses/programs. Applications for refunds or credits within 14 days of the program date will be considered on a case by case basis. Only circumstances outside your control will be considered and need to be supported by evidence or a statutory declaration. Refunds and credit vouchers won't be issued within 14 days of the program date for a change of mind. You're not automatically eligible for a refund, credit or make-up class if you miss a session. Program changes and cancellations
Sydney City Farm makes every effort to ensure programs go ahead. Sydney City Farm reserves the right to adjust program times, locations and tutors within the education program.
Our programs need a minimum number of students to go ahead. If your program does not have enough attendees it will be cancelled. You will be informed by phone and email 2 working days prior to the program and a full refund will be provided. Alternatively, you can opt for a City Farm credit that can be used for payment or part payment of another City Farm program.
Occasionally we may also have to cancel programs due to extreme weather or other unforeseen issues. Sydney City Farm will use make every effort to inform you of any cancellations by phone as soon as possible and a full refund will be provided. Alternatively, you can opt for a City Farm voucher credit that can be used for payment or part payment of another City Farm program.
Sydney City Farm will not be liable to you for any loss or damage suffered as a result of the cancellation of any programs.
Privacy
The City of Sydney values your privacy.
Why we are collecting your details
Sydney City Farm may need to collect your personal information so that we can process bookings and manage our education and volunteer programs, events, workshops and talks. The supply of this information is voluntary.
Sydney City Farm may also collect evidence of your Covid-19 vaccination status to comply with NSW Covid-19 public health orders and City of Sydney workplace arrangements. The supply of this information is currently required by law.
If you do not provide this information, we may be unable to provide access to Sydney City Farm services.
Using your information
Sydney City Farm will use your personal information, such as your contact details, for the purpose for which it was collected and may also use it as is necessary for the exercise of other functions. However, evidence of your Covid-19 vaccination status will only be used for the purpose for which it was collected.
Receiving and storing your information
Sydney City Farm employees are the intended recipients of this information. Sydney City Farm is collecting this information and the City of Sydney, located at 456 Kent Street, Sydney NSW 2000, will store it securely. You can access and update your contact details yourself through our JRNI booking system. Alternatively, please contact Customer Service on 02 9265 9333 or at [email protected] to access or update your personal information.

Privacy protection notice for Covid-19 vaccination status
Purpose of collection: We are collecting evidence of your Covid-19 vaccination status (or medical contraindication certificate) to comply with NSW Covid-19 Public Health Orders and City of Sydney Covid-19 workplace arrangements.
Intended recipients: The City of Sydney is the intended recipient.
Supply: The supply of this information is currently required by law. It is also a City of Sydney workplace requirement. If you are unwilling to provide this information, the City of Sydney may be unable to provide access to City of Sydney services and workplaces.
Storage: The City of Sydney is collecting this information and will store it securely.
Other users: The City of Sydney will only use this information for the purpose it was collected.
Discount vouchers
Sydney City Farm may at times offer special membership or promotional vouchers that can be used to receive a discount off the program fee. Promotional codes must be entered at the time of booking and can't be applied retrospectively.
Children’s programs
Code of conduct: For children’s programs, the rules of behaviour are explained at the start of the program. Children are not to disrupt the learning of other students, and continued enrolment is conditional on behaviour.
Unwell students: Sick children are not allowed into programs. If a tutor identifies a student is unwell, parents will be called to collect their child.
Duty of care: All children must be signed in and out of programs, a contact phone number for the program period must be supplied, and children must be collected on time.
Shoes: All children’s program attendees must wear covered shoes at all times. Open-toe shoes are not permitted.
