About this opportunity

We recognise the challenges the creative and community sectors face when looking for affordable property in our area. Our accommodation grants provide spaces to connect and collaborate at a reduced rate (up to 100% rental subsidy) for up to 5 years.

There are 5 five tenancies available at Joynton Avenue Creative Centre (JACC) and one space available at Banga Community Shed (Banga). Both sites are in the heart of the growing Green Square creative community precinct.

You’re invited to submit an innovative and site-specific proposal to better serve the community, social and arts, cultural and creative sectors. You can apply for one or more tenancies.

These spaces invite creative collaborative ways of working with different communities.

We encourage applications from organisations that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and cultures, including community-controlled organisations and networks.

Property features

Joynton Avenue Creative Centre is a purpose-built creative hub designed to support collaboration between core creatives, arts organisations and the local community. Spread over 3 levels, it features a workshop, open meeting rooms/classrooms and a range of working spaces, all connected by shared breakout areas. This opportunity aims to encourage innovative thinking, creative participation and strengthen connections across Green Square and the small to medium creative sector.

Banga means ‘make’ or ‘do’ in the Sydney Aboriginal language. Reflecting this, the Banga Community Shed offers 100.6 square metres of ground-level workshop space for community use: an active place to meet, learn and share skills. The brick building includes 3 concrete-floored workshops and a fenced community garden at the front. We encourage you to consider potential community collaborations in your application.
