Take our survey on the city’s kerb ramps and footpaths
We invite people with disability and people with access needs to give feedback on the accessibility of footpaths in the city.
Project Status: Closed
Why we’re doing this
In 2020, we consulted our communities on the current inclusion (disability) action plan 2021–2025. We heard that people with disability still find it difficult to get around the city.
Most issues reported were related to footpaths and kerb ramps.
We listened to community feedback and committed to improving the accessibility of footpaths in the city to make it easier for people with disability to get around independently.
This commitment is outlined in the action plan:
- 4. Continue to improve the accessibility of streets, footpaths, parks and open places through renewal programs, upgrades and new capital projects in compliance with the inclusive and accessible public domain policy and guidelines.
What we’re doing
We’re inviting feedback from people with disability and people with access needs on the accessibility of footpaths in the city. We want to know what access issues you experience, where they are, and how they impact you.
Your feedback will help us better understand the specific access barriers and issues faced by people with disability and people with access needs.
Feedback will be considered alongside existing condition reports and accessibility audits. This information will identify priorities for our maintenance and upgrade programs, and help make a safer and more accessible city.
