We only accept a current registration certificate issued by Roads and Maritime Services, and the certificate must show receipt of payment. The vehicle must be registered in your name and to your residential address. If the car is a company vehicle, you must also have a letter from the company that states your home address confirming that you are a company employee and you have full use of the vehicle.
2 pieces of documentation that show proof of residence
These documents must show your name and residential address. Documents addressed to a post office box will not be accepted. Acceptable documents include: utility bill (electricity, gas, water), phone bill, bank statement, pension/health care card, current lease, driver licence, council rates notice, electoral card, or other official government correspondence. Documents relating to your vehicle cannot be used as proof of residence.
When you move house it can take a while to update your new address details. A temporary parking permit may be issued to tenants or owners of eligible properties. Contact us for more information. We will remind you to renew your permit before it expires. Find out more about temporary parking permits.
Calculate your fees
Environmental discounts: We aim to demonstrate environmental leadership and are committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions to address climate change. In 2008, we introduced a new pricing schedule with lower annual permit fees to encourage the use of cleaner vehicles.
Green vehicle guide rating: The scaled annual permit fees are based on the star rating of your vehicle in the federal government's green vehicle guide.
After you finish
Once your form and payment are received, your application will be processed and any permit(s) for which you are eligible will be posted to you within 10 working days.
