Recycle garden organics
Our green lid bin is an easy and free way to recycle your grass clippings, prunings and leaves.
Project Status: When you need to do this
Whether you have a few pots on a balcony or a full backyard, all plants need a bit of maintenance. Gather your green waste and put it in one of our green lid garden organics bins.
We can collect your garden organics fortnightly and recycle it into mulch, soil conditioners and composts.
This free service is available to all our residents. Apartment residents should check with their strata manager if a garden organics bin can be ordered.
What you need to do
-
Use your green lid bin correctly
We can’t take your bin if it contains unacceptable items, if the lid can’t close, or there’s material outside your bin unless bundled and booked as a separate pick-up.
-
Order your new bin online
Complete this online form to order your free organics bin for your home.
-
Replace or repair your existing bin
You can do this by using the same online form.
Collection days
We’ll collect your green lid bin every second week, on the same day as your yellow lid bin. This may be any time from 6am to 6pm.

Before you start
You can recycle your garden organics at home by composting or mulching.

After you finish
If you have excess garden waste
If you can’t fit everything in your bin, book a separate pick-up. Branches shouldn't be more than 1m long or 10cm thick, bundled and tied tightly. No tree stumps, logs, trunks, soil or potting mix.
