Apply now for Covid-19 relief funding

To help individuals and organisations through the Covid-19 pandemic, we’re releasing an extra $500,000 in quick response grants. These are rolling grants – there is no application deadline.

Who can apply

Individuals, sole traders, unincorporated community groups, not-for-profit organisations and for-profit organisations.

What grants can pay for

Programs to help communities adapt, survive and recover from the pandemic, including:

  • Feeding vulnerable community members
  • Providing digital assistance to vulnerable community members
  • Helping vulnerable community members feel connected
  • Strengthening community support networks
  • Delivering performances, creative work and classes online
  • Helping businesses to continue to trade

How much you can apply for

Between $2,000 and $5,000.

What you’ll need to demonstrate

  • Innovation, experimentation or creative imagination
  • Skills and experience required for the project
  • Your connection to our area
  • How the grant will help support responding to the Covid-19 pandemic

Standard quick response grant

We sponsor a wide variety of projects.

Our quick response program supports individuals and projects that contribute to:

  • increased engagement of individuals and teams in sporting, academic, cultural and environmental fields
  • improved relative equality, resilience and adaptive capacity of the city's diverse communities
  • enhanced positive social, cultural and sustainability outcomes for local communities related to the support for City strategic priorities.

Funding priorities

  • One-off support for individuals and teams experiencing financial hardship that are selected to participate in events in the sporting, academic, cultural or environmental fields
  • Essential emergency support for community, cultural or sustainability projects, strictly for situations that couldn’t be foreseen.
  • Seed funding for other strategic priorities in the City’s policies and actions plans, detailed in the grants and sponsorship program guidelines.

Funding available

  • Sporting or events representation up to $500 per year per individual or up to $2,000 per team.
  • Essential emergency project support funding up to $2,000 per year.
  • Strategic priorities support up to $2,000 per year.

Key dates

This program accepts applications all year and applicants are required to submit their application 8 weeks prior to the event taking place.

Activities should take place within 12 months of the submission date.
