Library worker replaces books back on the shelf

In the beautiful old Waterloo Town Hall building, this library has been popular with locals since it opened in 1972. It is home to our Koori and Russian collections.

Temporary closure

Our libraries as well as Glebe and Kings Cross neighbourhood service centres will be closed on Friday 5 December for a staff development day.

You can continue to renew and reserve items, as well as access our extensive online digital collection.

After-hours return chutes are available at Glebe, Green Square, Newtown, Surry Hills, Ultimo and Waterloo branches.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused. This development day will help us serve you better.

There’s more than just books at the library. Explore music, makerspace kits, video games, toys, film and more, all free to borrow. Waterloo Library also has a Koori collection and Russian, Chinese and Vietnamese books, newspapers, magazines, CDs and DVDs.
