Review of markets policy

Review of markets policy

Council approved the updated markets policy on 28 October 2019.

We invite your feedback on our updated markets policy.

We have made minor updates to our markets policy to make this easier for everyone to use. The changes do not alter the intent of the policy.

The policy continues to provide a clear and consistent approach to managing markets on City of Sydney land.

Minor updates include deleting references to a ‘markets panel’ and ‘site suitability checklist’. We have also clarified and expanded the definition of ‘community use’.

The policy only covers markets on council-owned and controlled land.
