Sydney Park skate space

Sydney Park skate space

Final report

The final outcomes of the consultation are documented below. This may include a summary of all contributions collected as well as recommendations for future action.

Consultation on the concept design has now finished. Thanks for having your say and stay tuned to this page for project updates.

Project update: 14 June 2017

Following consultation in late 2016, we undertook geotechnical and engineering studies to further inform the concept design, which is ready to be endorsed by Council.

Thanks to your feedback the report recommends including the flow bowl now, rather than building it in a few years as originally planned.

The Environment Committee will review the concept design(External link) on Monday 19 June 2017. If you’d like to speak to the committee, please contact the City’s Secretariat on 02 9265 9310 before midday on the day of the meeting.

2016 consultation

We're upgrading the activity area in Sydney Park by creating a new skate space and want you to have your say.

The skate space will use the old bike track area in Sydney Park (alongside Sydney Park Road). This space allows a lot of choice, so we want to know about you and how you use Sydney Park.

The proposed skate space will upgrade the old section of the cycle centre into a multi-purpose area for scooters, skateboards and BMX bikes. The space will provide both street and bowl style skating opportunities. The plan includes:

  • spaces for skating and scootering
  • gathering spaces
  • improved access and circulation paths
  • lighting
  • more shade and tree planting.

Check out the plans and provide your feedback by 2 December 2016.
