Improving local parks and playgrounds

We are committed to improving our local parks and playgrounds through innovative urban design.

While we make improvements to existing facilities we also aim to create more green space with new parklands across the local area.

Sydney Your Say

Before we start work on our parks and playgrounds, we ask for your feedback about the plans and designs.

Current works

New skate park, Sydney Park

We will soon start work on a new skate park in Sydney Park. With more than 2,000 skateboarders living in our area, and around 56,000 skateboarders living within 20km of Sydney Park, this new skate park will be enjoyed by many people.

Improving The Crescent and Federal Park

We've started work at The Crescent and Federal Park at Johntons Creek, Annandale, to create more green open spaces and recreational areas for everyone to enjoy.

Wimbo Park redesign

We will create a bigger, better and more pleasant Wimbo Park, extending from Bourke Street to South Dowling Street.

The Drying Green

Green Square’s central park will be named The Drying Green to celebrate its industrial past. Lawns, trees, barbecues and shade structures will create a wonderful place for friends and family to gather and play.

Hyde Park works

The City has begun a new program of works to improve and maintain Hyde Park, including tree replanting, refurbishing the Pool of Reflection, maintenance and upgrades to paths and the Museum Station café.
